About - chi sono

A journalist who
teaches Italian.
There's a difference.

Mi chiamo Elisa Meazzini.

Before I ever stood in a classroom, I was a professional journalist. I spent years learning to say exactly the right thing, in exactly the right way — and that precision never left me when I started teaching.

When my family moved to the United States, I brought that discipline into language teaching. For 14 years, from one coast to the other, I taught adult learners at two cornerstones of Italian culture on American soil: one in Boston, the other in San Diego.

Over time I developed a specialization that has become one of the most meaningful parts of my work: preparing students for the Italian language exam required for citizenship. The stakes are personal and real. The preparation has to be precise. Both feel natural to a journalist.

I'm now back in Milan — which means your lessons come from inside the country where Italian actually lives. That aliveness reaches through the screen.
